Cineraria
Name: Senecio cineraria, dusty miller, sea ragwort, silver dust
Description: Evergreen perennial shrub. Leaves are lobed, green with rough hairs. Flowers are pink / red / blue / blue / purple / white, daisy-like and can often cover the foliage totally.
Concern level: Only during drought conditions, unpalatable. Generally found in landscaping and flower beds.
Toxic parts: All parts of the plant are toxic.
Symptoms: Lack of appetite, abnormal behavior, depression, excitability, diarrhea, abdominal pain, blindness.
Danger: Contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids which affect the liver and can be fatal.
