Elephant Ears
Names: Colocasia
Description: Perennial herbs with large arrow-shaped leaves grow on long stalks, can be variegated. Flowers in a spadix with a green / yellow spathe.
Concern level: Only during drought conditions, unpalatable.
Toxic parts: All parts of the plant are toxic.
Symptoms: Burning, swelling and irritation of the mouth and throat, diarrhea, excitability, death.
Danger: Contains calcium oxalate crystals which can be fatal.
