Horse Poetry Tuesdays

New ScheduleRecently I was researching something or other online and ran across The Man From Snowy River by A.B. Paterson. I was embarrassed that the name only rang a bell in the context of a movie, so I had to read it and see if the movie added up.

The Inspiration

The poem is excellent and actually exciting, or as exciting as a poem can be. As for the movie, its bold imagery absolutely does the verses justice and the cliff scene is very judiciously replicated for the film interpretation.

If anyone has forgotten that breathtaking scene, here is a quick refresher.

The Result

So inspired by this one poem I went out in search of more. Now I have a great selection of horsey poetry to share and I will be doing so on Tuesdays in the weeks to come. I also welcome submissions if there are any horse loving poets out there who want a little exposure.

The Result

Here is a quick rundown of the schedule I’m planning. Lately I’ve been trying to streamline my posting a little, and have decided to take it down to a Monday through Friday week. This has taken a little rearranging, but five days a week is enough horse!

Mondays – Officially dedicated to the Toxic Plant of the Week.

Tuesdays – Starting next week, Tuesdays is for horse poetry (with photography accompaniment of course). I’ll be adding a running list to the arts section.

Wednesdays – Have been my artistic days for some time and will continue to feature amazing horses of the Masters.

Thursdays – I’ll be moving Horse Video Sunday to Horse Video Thursday.

Fridays – Another new series in the works, Fridays will be dedicated to horse breeds of the world. I’ll be going country by country to share their native breeds.

Sticking to it

While I plan to stick to this tenative posting schedule, I do reserve the right to substitute the occasional interview, helpful info or meaningful rant from time to time.
