At the height of horse racing fever, this race was a pivotal moment in history for both of these champions. It was a long time in the making so when it finally happened America stood waiting with baited breath.
East Coast Vs. West Coast
From the east coat was War Admiral, the refined offspring of Man ‘O War himself, bred and built purely to run. And from the west coast was Seabiscuit, Man O’ War’s grandson. He was an ugly colt, but that just made the left coast of America cheer even louder for him.
This race made an appearance in Seabiscuit the movie and was one of the most exciting moments. I was browsing videos and found this clip of the actual race. It was a cool find worth sharing.
