Recently I’ve been featuring horses in art by color, it’s been interesting to see the how the different colors are depicted in art. So far we’ve taken a look at white horses, red horses & black horses.
While I’ve got more colors to share, I enjoyed many of these paintings and wanted to post part 2 of white horses in art before venturing into new territory.
St. George and the Dragon – Raphael
Tancred and Ermina – Nicholas Poussin
Dagr – Peter Nicolai Arbo
Thirsty Warrior – Kozma Petrov Vodkin
Ugarte thrown from the Morro de Arica – Agostino Lodovico Marazzani Visconti
Plaster Statuette of a Horse – Vincent van Gogh
Scotland for Ever – Elizabeth Thompson
A Child’s Book of Warriors – William Canton
That’s All I’ve Got
Although my white horse collection has been exhausted (the reds too) I’ve got more black horse art to share. Be sure to check out the horse colors section to see what might be coming next.
