Description

The Equine Program Assistant provides support to all aspects of the Equine Program within the Farm Department. This position will be responsible for teaching riding classes, assisting in driving, horse study activity periods, and vocational barn management with and for children with special needs. Following the direction of the Farm Director and Equine Program Coordinator, he/she will assist in preparing and implementing diverse equine activities including mounted lessons, groundwork, games, therapy sessions and public presentations. The incumbent will also participate in equine care, including medical, feeding and cleaning of stalls. A College degree is required along with PATH Instructor Certification and a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Must be flexible, as a heavy focus on after school and evening programming is necessary, and one weekend day is required.
