SCAD seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position in equestrian studies. The equestrian studies program focuses on practical knowledge to prepare students for a variety of careers in the equine industry. SCAD offers a bachelor of arts degree in equestrian studies as well as an equestrian studies minor. The university fields a championship equestrian team that has earned 33 individual and team titles, including 10 American National Riding Commission championships and six individual Intercollegiate Horse Show Association championships over the past seven years. Students have the opportunity to study, train and ride at the Ronald C. Waranch Equestrian Center, a 100-acre, state-of-the-art facility with paddocks, grazing fields, competition rinks and a barn for the university’s and student riders’ horses. Ideal candidates for this position will have experience teaching at the collegiate level along with the ability to teach courses in riding, horse care, training, course design, barn management, equestrian event management and more. Master’s degree or the equivalent preferred along with documented licensing, awards and achievements.
