Friesian Horse Scam

Heads Up Buyers – The person who placed the ad is a proven scammer & similar ads have been found for the same animal under different names. The ad I’ve left up for reference & discussion because the scam ads tend use the same descriptions & photos. The people who asked me to place this ad are in no way affiliated with The Equinest, I’ve removed any contact info for them & urge everyone to read the comments for more information.

If you are interested in adopting an animal for minimal cost, why not check out a rescue or two?

ebonyRecently I was contacted by a horse owner who has an unfortunate situation and needs to find a good home for his Friesian gelding. He is offering Ebony free to a good home with the assurance the animal will be well cared for.

Meet Ebony

Ebony is a loyal horse, willing, placid and cheerful. He is people oriented, highly intelligent and possesses an uncanny ability to retain knowledge. he can be ridden both Western and English disciplines.

A Friesian gelding, ebony is a nice example of his breed from what I can tell.

  • Walk is straight, forward and springy
  • Trots with extreme power and action, bending well and deep at the joints
  • His Steps are high and long with lot of “air time’
  • His canter is lively with a strong pushing power from the hindquarters

  1. I would love to own this lovely guy to pursue an interest in dressage. Thank you! Devorah

I don’t live in Texas but in Missouri. I have a quarter horse gelding, Larado. He is 12 yrs old. I don’t ride him much but my husband does. I am more into grooming, feeding, and just spending time with him. I really thought I wanted to ride again, hadn’t done it since I was a kid, and got my first horse a few years ago. Shadow was the worst looking one at the sale barn and when the guy at the barn barked out that the slaughter truck was on its way to pick her up I loaded her up and off we went. Big mistake. I knew nothing about horses, let alone a 6 year old horse that had never been handled. But we eventually found our way together and while she refused to let me ride her, with the exception of the 2 second ride I got when I was stupid enough to climb on her, she did eventually let me lead, bathe, groom and cuddle (cuddle I did with caution)her. She taught me a lot about the nature of horses. I do still ride at times and Shadow moved on with a guy that broke her, but I would like to have another horse and Larado needs a pasture mate. Don’t know if someone of my ability, or inability I guess, would be considered but I would appreciate it if you gave it some thought. Thanks.

  4. B. Hill says:

I believe this offer is a scam. You can see a simiar ad posted here. http://www.horseweb.com/horses/classifieds/ads/62058.htm
The pictures and name are the same, but the horse is supposedly in Augusta, Maine. The phone number listed with the ad is area code 755, which is in Shenzhen, in Guangdong Province. That sure ain’t Texas!

  5. Paige says:

    Hi B. Hill,

Thanks for your comment, I’m looking into the situation. What “is” the scam?

  6. B. Hill says:

I’m not sure what the scam is, or if there is one. I do believe it’s not a legitimate ad. Nothing about it makes sense!

  7. Paige says:

    Hi B. Hill,

I appreciate your vigilance so did some research, but I still can’t see what anyone would have to gain from posting an ad for a horse.

There are other ads for Ebony around the horse web, but it looks to me like they are just using every resource they can to find a home for their animal.

Hopefully everyone will use their common sense and take the same precautions they would take when posting or answering any type of classified ad online.

  8. B. Hill says:

    PLEASE use caution.

I do not believe this is a legitimate ad. If you express interest in the horse you will be contacted by someone else and asked for contact information so they can bill you shipping charges.

  9. Paige says:

    Hi B. Hill,

Thanks again for this information. Instead of pulling the ad, I opted to add a warning at the top of the post. I’m hoping that leaving it up and clearly stating the warning I am making the situation known.

If anyone has more information I hope they will speak up too.

  10. Devorah Aikman says:

I was the first to respond to this ad and I have saved all correspondance with “Michael” who offered the horse to me. First he informed me the horse was located in another state, not Texas. Next he told me I would be responsible for shipping fees and that I would pay the shipper for the transfer of the horse’s registration (makes no sense) and for the cost of shipping. Next he sent me a link to a corporate pet transport service which seemed to specialize in dogs and cats rather than horses. When I told him I would pick up the horse myself and asked for a location, the man seems to have discontinued communications. What would a scammer have to gain in this situation? Bogus fees for transfering a horses registration ($1,500) in this case and shipping fees. While I would like to believe better of Michael, it became very clear to me that this is a scam. Of course, I would like very much for him to prove me wrong. In the meantime, I have several really nice mares to legitimately place with someone who is capable of providing them a quality home. If interested, email me at DominionRacing@live.com. Thank You, Devorah

  11. Paige says:

Thanks for the info Devorah, I hope everyone will read these comments so they are aware of these types of scams.

  12. michael says:

this is not a scam.i’m just trying to sell my horse.

  13. Devorah Aikman says:

    Hi Michael,

Just to clarify the add said that the horse was “free” and in this statement, you said you wanted to sell him.

Is the horse “free” or is he for sale and if so what is the price?

Thank you for clearing this up. I am still very interested in the horse.

    Devorah

  14. B. Hill says:

On HorseWeb, the ad you posted said “financial situation is the reason why i want to give him for free to a good home where he can be well catered for.”

So yes, we would all like to know how much he costs now. Is he available to be picked up? Also, where IS Ebony?

  15. liane says:

im all the way in uk and this same horse is up for sale as two different horses in 2 different states, ive been asked to pay delivery of the horse, i was really looking forward to owning him but from the word go i knew it was a scam once i recieved pictures from 2 people with the same horse, i belive he pretends to be a horse transprter takes ur moeny and runs? i mean if i had a horse i loved dearly i would most defently want to see were it was going and meet and speak to the person it was going to, the horse offered to me on the 1st email for all he knew could be the meat man!!!! VERY INSANE

  16. PStrait says:

This same ad is now all over dreamhorse.com I became very leary when the owner (in this case freddy) was in Tenn, the ad orriginated as TX and the horse was supposed to be in Il. My guess is they are trying to get you to send money for shipping. I have been requesting the address for the farm where the horse is located for days. The pics are the same as a horse that has been offered for “Adoption” in the UK. He looks like too nice a horse for someone to give away also. Freddy claimed he did not believe in selling animals.

  17. B. Hill says:

What a shame. It’s one thing to prey on greedy people who fall for the “don’t tell anyone and I’ll share the million dollars with you” scam. But to take advantage of horse lovers who are trying to save a beautiful animal, it’s really low. I hope NO ONE falls victim, but I fear they’re making money hand over fist.

  18. liane says:

hes still trying to get me to send him money reckons the horse is waiting in a haulers, i was really excited but realised that it was all too good to be true!! thanks to this ad i could confirm my thoughts on it been a scam, so many thanks xx

  19. leah says:

    wow,
there is a woman who i have been emailing back and forth with about this horse named welly. i told her i was located in the new england area. she said that she used to live in new england but because of a back injury she had to relocate in texas! she spoke in broken english but she knew so much about this horse! it was, obviously, free. she is trying to get me to tell her what my adress, full name, and phone number is so that she can ship it to me and then have ME pay them? makes NO sense. im going to tell her to give me her adress because i dont feel comftorble giving out personal info. i dont know how she will react but from the rest of these emails i can tell that she wont give me her adress. :/ its so wrong to pray on people who truely love these graceful animals and tell them to give you money!!! thanks y’all!

  20. lindsey says:

i am very interested in ebony i alresdy have a horse and i would only want him for light hacks i ride my horse every day apart from sundays so he gets a reast i have always wanted a freisian as i think they are amazing animals please contact me asap many thanks lindsey.

  21. judy says:

This horse ( if healthy) would be much too valuable to give away.If the owner wanted to ensure a good home they would sell it for a very fair price (still high compared to your regular backyard horse – at the very least 5-6000 (from what it looks like it would be much higher) . Anyone paying a price like that would ensure the horse has a good home. No one would give this breed of horse away. This horse looks like it would be registered – ask for the registration number and then contact the registry. Looks very much like a scam. Ask them to send another picture with a newspaper from the local town attached to the saddle ( so you can see the headline) – it just might help if you are really interested in pursuing -at least you would know there was a horse and were it was that day.

  22. Paige says:

    Hi Judy,

Thanks for your comment and the helpful tips. Hopefully readers will read them and take heed.

  23. Candice says:

We replied to an add for the same hore but from an emily hunt and we said we wanted to pick up the horse and they wanted to ship it and for us to pay the shipping charges. They didn’t want to call us just said the shipping company would contact us.

  24. suzanne says:

Hi all this is what I believe is a scam they have posted similar scams in the UK using business, illness etc then wanting you to pay for shipping, they also try ans ascertain as much personal information as possiblehis could lead to a identity fraud. Please be mindful if anything seems to be good to be true it usually is. I try to spend about hour a week looking for similar ads and reporting them to the website, because I am so angry and what they try to do to innocent people.

  25. SANDY says:

  27. Just responded to an ad to buy a fresian for $1500. Once the person contacted me via email, they said they were looking for someone to adopt their horse. Went on to mention a back injury, 3 years in a wheel chair, had to move to Washington to be with parents, etc. Something just didn’t add up. I was sent a bunch of photos, and they’re the same photos that show up above. The horses name on this posting was Ayala.

  28. barbara says:

Well, those criminals are just about everywhere! They started “small” with puppy frauds — now they try to steal money from horse lovers! There are no pets — just greedy criminal who will ask you to send money gram via Wal-Mart or Western Union. When you do that, you can kiss your founds Good Buy!

Just ignore any suspicious offers or better yet immediately report any offers (that are not from a safe place where you can go in person) to authorities. Internet is flooded with trained scammers from Cameroon, Nigeria, Kenya and recently from Spain — some of those criminals have contacts in United States, so be very careful to whom you give your personal information

  29. Ramona says:

I just came across the very same situation on another website. The woman said the horse was in another country and just wanted to find the horse a good home and all I needed to do was give my name, address, phone number and closest airport and they would send the horse to me if I agreed to pay the $1,100.00 shipping fee. MAJOR SCAM ! !

  30. Sarah says:

    Totally a scam.
the horse is also listed all over as Jack.
when pressed they refuse to let you see horse or ship it yourself. they want you to pay shipping, that’s all! Ya, right. And they are on some religious retreat and cannot see anyone (but have internet access…. um)

I’ve contacted authorities. My son was so excited and urged me to contact the ad. Oh well. Live and learn

  31. barbara says:

You are all shamless, greedy scammers from Cameroon!

  32. barbara says:

YES!!!!! IT A TYPICAL WEST AFRICAN SCAM! JUST GOOGLE THEIR E-ADDRESS AND CHECK THEIR IP – ALWAYS SHOWS FROM CAMEROON – LAND OF SHAMELESS CRIMINALS!

  33. Greetings,
Please find below an exchange of emails I have had with the webmaster of the EquineNow.com website. As you will see, I was also fooled by a fraudulent Friesian advert.
Thankfully, while awaiting a reply to my request for further information about a Friesian gelding, I happened to discover your remarkable public discussion about this previously undetected equine scam.
If anyone needed an example of the power of public input, this Ebony Friesian Scam alert certainly fills the bill.
Armed with this information, I entered into a positive exchange with the webmaster of the EquineNow website, who is now taking strong steps to stop the infiltration of that site by these unscrupulous crooks.
That exchange is beneath my signature.
    best wishes,

    Hello,
My name is CuChullaine O’Reilly. I am the Founder of the international equestrian exploration organization, the Long Riders’ Guild, the publisher of more than 300 equestrian books, an international equestrian investigative reporter and the webmaster for numerous academic equine websites.
I mention these facts so as to demonstrate the depth of my knowledge of the equestrian world, as well as to alert you to the fact that your website was misused by equestrian crooks.
Earlier today I became a victim of a Friesian ‘for sale’ scam which is being operated on your website.
It was only by chance that I happened to discover another website which listed emails from other victims. The information provided there provided me with the evidence needed to learn that I had been set up by a fraudulent seller.
Upon returning to your website I discovered that you have created a well worded warning about this Friesian scam.
My question is, because you certainly know your website is being repeatedly misused in this manner, why don’t you publish this warning above each Friesian page instead of burying it deep inside your website?
Such a placement/warning would instantly have alerted me, and doubtless hundreds of other well-meaning potential buyers, to the risks we were being exposed to.
It would also serve as a deterrent to the crooks who are turning your website into an accomplice for crime.
If I hear back from the criminals, I will be in touch with the police bunco squad at Graham, Texas, where the imaginary horse is supposedly living.
Your input into this internet fraud is of grave concern to me and I would appreciate your reply at your earliest convenience.
    Thank you.

That’s a good suggestion. I’ll have the programmers add some wording and then link to our fraud page. I’d like to make sure the ad you are talking about is removed from our site. Do you have the Ad ID# or URL? We remove ads daily, as well as taking steps to ‘ban’ sellers who post questionable ads. Unfortunately, many of the scammers work their way around the block/ban, so its a never ending battle.

    Hello,
Thanks for getting back to me regarding this devilish method of preying on the public’s trust. Having spent months searching on both sides of the Atlantic for a suitable gelding for my upcoming ride around the world, I was very excited to have apparently discovered a seller who had the perfect horse for my 12,000 mile journey.
You can imagine my disappointment when later that day I discovered the photograph from your website, which purported to depict the Friesian ‘gelding’ I was awaiting a reply on, was being used to hustle an imaginary Friesian mare on another sale site.
That discovery in turn led to a quick check of the internet, wherein was revealed a site where other concerned horse buyers had pooled their discoveries about this Nigerian-style internet horse scam.
Here is a link to that important discussion.
    http://www.theequinest.com/friesian-in-texas/
While awaiting your reply I discovered that other internet equine sale sites are also being polluted by this scam.
One such example pretends to have a Friesian at Fargo, North Dakota and lists this phone number 856-282-0952. But a quick check reveals that this is actually a New Jersey area number.
    http://www.horseville.com/php/view.php?id=225647
A check of your website just now reveals that the two Friesians which originally drew my attention, named Ype and JK, seem to have been withdrawn. This is just as well as, if the scammers had replied to my query, I planned to telephone the chief of police, and local newspaper editor in Graham, Texas, where the Friesian was supposedly located, so as to alert these local authorities to how their town was being used as a cover for this quickly spreading scam.
While the ad that drew my attention yesterday seems to have been withdrawn, your website is hosting an interesting ad for a Friesian which claims it is “almost gated.” Despite my many years of equine experience I’ve yet to meet an animal with this rare architectural description.
Nevertheless this imaginary Friesian is available for the an affordable $1000.
    http://www.equinenow.com/horse-ad-o1528925572
What I believe is another strong indication of fraud is that, like many of these phony Friesian ads, this seller provides no name or contact info but does pretend to supply a You Tube video. Yet a check at You Tube only takes you to a general page, with no horse footage provided. So this is another clue as to the scammer’s method.
Meanwhile, there are pages of other obviously phony Friesian ads still listed on your website. The one listing “Very feminine face, petite build,” seems to have strayed over from a cowgirl-singles website.
    http://www.equinenow.com/horse-ad-o1540689458
Other obvious examples, include a “two for one” pair of sale-priced Freisians. Here are some examples which could almost certainly be removed immediately.

    http://www.equinenow.com/horse-ad-o1554091663
    http://www.equinenow.com/horse-ad-o1499094657
A visit to your website just now has revealed that you have placed the words “Beware of scam ads” at the top of each page. But as a webmaster myself, could I suggest that you clarify the wording to read “BEWARE SCAM FRIESIAN ADS.”
Anyone using the internet will recognize the deliberate use of capital letters and visit the suggested link.
Moreover, such a strident warning will immediately discourage scammers, who will realize that their secret has been exposed.
In conclusion, your website is providing a valuable service to buyers and sellers alike, so it is certainly disappointing to have to spend time patrolling against these obnoxious low-level pony parasites.
However, as money may have indeed been illegally enticed from the public via your website’s ads, I trust you will now ensure that you will take the steps necessary to protect genuine buyers and sellers from this type of blatant abuse.
Many thanks for your attention to this matter.

Please post this I have found this scam in North Carolina as well. If you check any of these sites you will see Fresian horses for under $1500. The latest is Tango listed by Marcelo Biglante. In this scam he claims he and his wife have been in a car accisent and are no longer able to ride. Another recent scam I came across was a lady in South Carolina who claims she moved to Utah because her son was recently killed in a car accident and the horse reminds her of him. Again both parties lie about their actual location and want money for thed transport, saying the balance of the horse will only be paid upon delivery if you are completely satisfied. These people are complete scum! DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR TRAP!!! Here is the last email Marcelo sent today:

    Hi there
Many thanks for the mail and happy to read from you .Well i must say i am impressed from your reply and i think you will make the perfect home for my gelding .to give you more information about his performance and character , i must say he is the best i have ever had. He is pure sweety that likes to be cuddled and on the other hand he wants to please you. He is very intelligent and gentle. Super social and not afraid of traffic, dogs and children but still a young horse of course. He has absolute potential .He is a sweet and well handled boy in all the ways. He star ted his training a little while ago and is so easy with taking up new work. Will make – within the shortest time – an excellent family horse or best friend for life! Full motherline, baroque built and super character .I assure you that you will get the best gelding ever . He will come with his passport and all tacks accompanied .He will come with two saddles , brindles and Bits .Rugs and blanket shall accompany him.He is UTD on his coggins and will come with his health guarantee . But all i need from you is the assurance that you will take proper care of him and send me updated photos of the friesian every after two months . I will definitely let you have the gelding but will like to know when you are fit to come for the pick up.Presently i am located in Oakland California where i have been primarily transferred to work with the Kinship Child Adoption center . Though i am due to resume my duty , i will like that he is taken to his new home since i intend to dedicate my self and do my work .So i will like to know when you are ready to come for the pick up .If coming to pick up will be stressful , then i will advice you come over with a trailer of your choice to haul him to your home .You will have to pay just for the reservation of the gelding before coming over and that will cost $350 .That will be payable to me to reserve him for you .Well i can still arrange for the hauling of the friesian over to you .Hauling of the friesian over to you will cost just $840 . That will be paid to the hauling agency that i will prefer to use and not to me and they will tell you how you will have to send the money for the gelding to be hauled over to you .If you prefer that i have him hauled over , then the price of the friesian will be paid only when he arrive safely and is in good health. there will be no reservation .If that is ok with you then i will have to register the gelding at the agency and they have him delivered over to you as soon as possible .I will need your personal information so that i have him registered in your name and address . the details needed are

    Your full names……………………….
    Your city………………………….
    Home address/Delivery address………………….
    Zip code…………………………………………
    Mobile telephone number……………..
    Landline telephone number…………………….

When i have all these details , i will then take him to the agency and do the registration . when i am done , i will get back to you as soon as possible and the agency will also contact you through email and phone on how shipment will proceed and how payments work.I will make sure i use a reliable hauling agency and they will have him hauled over.
Regards and hope to read from you as soon as possible

I wish I could have gotten more info, but I did’t.
    Sorry everyone.

Yuup, too good to be true is right on the bucket. We’ve been having an exchange with a supposed Mr (Mrs.?) Torres for about two days when the whole shipping deal came up. My dad (not being an English speaker) became way too excited before really giving it some thought. So they called us, and the man that called had a VERY heavy Indian accent. Umm hello? I know they send our jobs overseas but seriously. Here is a part of the letter.

    [[[Hello ,
Thanks for the mail and interest on my friesian gelding .rex is
already taken . But i still have another friesian gelding
(Tango).Tango and is 16.2 hands 7 years old .He will come with all
health papers and one year health guarantee. this gelding {Tango} is
not only beautiful, completely healthy and sound, great, sane, trail
horse deluxe! has awesome four beat gaits.I am taking my horse off
the market as a riding horse as i do not have a rider for him since i
was involved in a car accident with my wife and both of us can't ride
    anymore , therefore i am unable to take video's of him being ridden .;
This super gelding has the most amazing paces. His walk is huge with a
great over track. His trot is off the
floor, uphill, floating & extremely big. he has a fab canter which is
powered from behind. Tango has a lovely temperament. he is good in all
respects. he will travel in a trailer or lorry & is happy to stand in
the box munching hay at shows. he will hack out alone & in company.. he
is very forward when hacking so wouldn`t be suitable for a novice. he
has been cantered in open spaces & is very well behaved. When hacking
alone he has a good imagination but is not silly with it. Tango has
been lightly competed. Judges love him.. he always gets fab comments
like super paces (normaly receiving 8`s). In his last outing he
received 80% in a intro test being the winner in a class of 14!!Tango went through professional training. There he learned all the lateral movements & performs them very
well indeed. he is how ever rusty on Half pass as i am not sure how to
do this. he has an amazing medium trot as well. Recently a friend had
started training him in changes, he would still need more
training to perfect this but looked like he would pick this up with
ease. he has had regular coaching with Steven Cruikshank who is a
class 2 dressage judge. Tango can jump, but this is not my thing so he
could do with further education on this subject.

Before i brought him home from Germany when he was 2, he was
professionally trained & was put through his gelding performance with
super results. he scored the following; WALK 8. TROT 7. CANTER 7.
    RIDABILITY 7 & 8. JUMPING2 X 7. he has full pink papers & is branded.

My Husband was an experienced beginner and he really enjoyed riding
where as I am an experienced rider and also enjoy riding tango. So
therefore, I am sure that it will be great for just about any riding
level from experienced beginner on up the scale. I also know that
tango would make a fantastic field trial horse if someone was
interested in him for that because tango has great endurance and
listens so well. I want tango to find a great home and will only sell
to such a home. Also, tango is fine with other horses or without them.
He has lived in a boarding situation before and did just as well as he
does in a private home situation.up to date on vaccines and dental

are looking for a horse that will be the same everyday and bring you
hours of enjoyment whether out on the trail or in the pasture then, it
might be the horse for you! I thought I would go ahead and post him so
that somebody could start enjoying him during the nice Fall weather
that is soon approaching ..Before i let you have the gelding i will
    like to know the following

Have you ever had a horse before ??
    Do you own a Ranch??
Are you an experienced Rider or a Beginner??
How soon do you need this gelding ??
    Where are you located ??

I am asking all these question so as to make sure that the gelding
gets into the hands of some one who will take proper care of the
gelding ..Do email me when you shall come to test ride and take the
horse along. Tango is for $1400 .please do email me when you are
ready to come over for test riding and pick up .find attached to this
mail some a picture of tango my Friesian Gelding .Please do email me
when you are fit to come over so that we arrange meeting
Thanks and waiting to read from you ]]]

First of all, it starts off as a male speaker — then switches to a female speaker half way. Later on when I ask WHY they have a spanish e-mail (the heading was actually in spanish) and they said they were Italian, knew English and Italian but not Spanish. ??? Then things got too.. iffy. Which culminated in me finding this site (many thanks to all who have shared btw, saved us almost a thousand dollars!) and sending a ‘personal’ email to the seller. I may be 17, but I’m not one to fall for silly games like these.

Also had an exchange with these people, just seemed too good to be true, a freesian for 900 pounds. TANGO as his name was at this time was supposed to be in Cumbria then all of a sudden he was in the Isle of Wight. Horse hunter have taken this ad from their website now. Wish I could get my hands on these people Id throw them to my dogs as a treat.

  41. Anuette says:

    DO UNDERSTAND ONE THING:

THOSE PSYCHOPATHS WOULD RATHER SELL A HORSE FOR MEAT – IF THEY HAD ONE THEN POST IT FOR AN ADOPTION!

THEY ARE PATHOLOGICAL LAYER’S, SCAMMERS, CRIMINALS WHO WOULD SELL THEIR OWN CHILD, SISTER OR MOTHER TO A PROSTITUTION RING!

DO NOT HAVE ANY SENTIMENTS WITH THOSE PARASITES!!

THEY ARE NOT HUMANS NOR ANIMALS – ANIMALS NOT NOT DO HARM!

JUST DO ALL OF US CIVILISED PEOPLE A FAVOR – POST INFORMATION ABOUT THOSE SCUMBAGS CRIMES EVERYWHERE!

  42. Carol says:

    Hi
I live in the UK and these scammers use the same scam’s over and over again. I answered an ad wanting more info about a gelding offered at £1500. I knew immediately from the response that it was a scam. The seller had poor English, they reduced the price without asking and wanted to get the horse transported and I pay when it arrived. I am much too long in the tooth to fall for such a poor scam, but I played along, gave them false details etc, until I had played long enough and informed them I knew their I.P address, could track them and that I had notified the advertising site of their scams. I also took the opportunity to increase their English vocabulary with words to describe them, not readily available in the English dictionary!! If a horse appears to be too cheap..then be wary. Nobody in their right mind should EVER agree to part with money or personal details to purchase a horse they had not been out to see, test ride, examine the passport and proof of ownership and have vetted. I just bought a horse from Spain, but not without speaking to the seller and taking a trip out to Benidorm to view and ride it. I reported another Scam regarding Friesians I saw today, the picture ’stolen’ from a reputable site in Holland. I posted the web page to them for their information and notified the advertising site. Use common sense and if something looks too good to be true, then it most likely is!! REPORT THESE LOW LIFES and DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED CASH!!

  43. Jen R says:

This horse is now being advertised in WA as “Dupy” and/or “Denzeli” from someone using the email “bruniogrocio@yahoo.com”. The shipping company they want you to use is internationalequinehaulers.tk

Oh My God…. This lady is now using the name Kent for her friesian. Her add states he is a 6 yr old stallion and she said she was in a wheel chair and can’t ride… I reported her and tracked the computer she was using to respond to me. What a joke!!! who does this. I will post the reply she sent me. I beat her at her own game LOL, I used different emails to trap her… In fact I will post all her reply’s

she honestly thought I was sending the money LOL! I wanted to see if she received the family picture I never sent her HA!
The other accounts I used she gave a quote for $3100 and $1600

  45. Sky says:

The same lady emailed me only this time she was a 14.1hh 5 year old mare called Haisi. She threw the horse at me and expected me to provide all my personal details within 3 days.

My mum thought it sounded too good to be true so I then decided to research it. That was when the same email address I had googled came up on three different websites with the same horse and the same rider under different names. I’m from the UK but other websites with the same horse on were also from as far as the US.

If anyone contacts you under this email address about a Fresian horse for adoption then please remember this post. melanidiote@gmail.com

  46. HC says:

I am having the same type of interaction as Shannon has had I will post on my blog http://qthorse.blogspot.com/

  47. HC says:

I have had this same scam attempt on me. I will be posting my interactions with her on my blog . I hope that by posting this at more places it will reach a greater # people and no one will be fooled in to paying for shipping on a horse that does not exist.

  48. THE REAL WORLD says:

WHY ARE YOU ALL GREEDY, YOU BUY A HORSE WHICH IS SOLD FOR $25000-$30000 FOR $900-2000, WHEN YOU GET SCAMMED YOU , CRY, GET LOST YOU GREEDY FOX.

  49. TM says:

I had the same experience as many are discussing. The horse’s name was Lenny. He is still listed at http://www.equinehits.com id # 276534. I realized that it was a scam early but continued emails to see how far they are willing to go. Mathew Sims Mathewsims33@yahoo.com (owner)posted the ad it Arizona and now lives in Louisiana. He gave me a fake vet name, fake transport service, etc. I talked with the owner and the transport company. I could bearly understand them and both numbers were unavailable. The key to understanding if you have a scam – if it is too good to be true, it is!! It seems that most of the emails have broken english as a common thread. There are no limits to what humans will do to get money without working!

  50. Kat says:

    ***MAJOR SCAM ORGANIZATION!***

Anytime on a pet selling website you see an ad for a purebred animal worth many more times than it is being sold for, do NOT reply to it. These scammers are a small group of people from Cameroon or Nigeria and have ads on all of the major pet selling/adoption websites. Never send personal information or full names because you could also become an alias they use to scam someone else. They have been found to have collected over $350k from unsuspecting buyers. NEVER wire money, buy any pet unless you or a reliable source can see the animal in person, and USE WISE JUDGEMENT. why would an animal normally worth $15,000 now be worth $1500 or less. If you’re in Tennessee and look for horses in that state and the horse happens to be located somewhere else and some strange “catastrophy” happened wherethey much give away their animal, just don’teven give them a reply. Delete the email and avoid suspicious ads.

    Thanks,
    K.

  51. Lesley says:

I just almost fell for this scam, a lady called Cate who is extremely ill, just lost her husband and is also pregnant, giving away a 9yo friesian. I found the ad on a dutch site with the aid of babelfish, but miraculously she is in UK with the horse. She wanted me to wire 480 euros to cameroon for delivery of the horse. The “shipping company” also phoned me and I told them I would either pay cash on delivery of the horse or find my own shippers, but Cate would not give me the address of where to collect the horse!

I played along with this to see how far it would go, I told her my little boy wanted to re name the horse Goliath after the horse in ladyhawke, and he is sooo excited, (which is untrue as I did not wish to disappoint hint him) but I also told her of my very true health problems, in the last 3 years I have had varicelle pneumonia which nearly killed me, breast cancer and now sarcoidosis, she was still willing to rip me off!
Unfortunately there are some genuine people out there looking for good homes for horses, I was given for free and beautiful 10 yo fully papered PRE stallion, high school trained who I totally adore. He has a very slight back problem which I was aware of, and I was asked to pay for shipping up front, but I checked out the shipping company and found them to be one of the top companies operating in Europe, I phoned their office from the web address and everything was in order, so beware, but sometimes fairy tales do come true!

  52. Valerie says:

    This is a scam I came across…

This was the original email that I sent out…

    His reply…

what are you talking about ?i am based in Miami .i always go to NY tosort out stuff from my old apartment

For all of you Friesian lover….Please don’t be fooled. Friesians are rarely for sale under $8,000 and make sure you can visit the horse before purchase.

  53. Chrissy says:

I have found 5 Friesians for “adoption” to good home. They all are well cared for and excellent dressage prospects. All have different names. But every one is the same horse with the same rider. I live in Texas and they are listed here. But upon contact with “owner” they have been in California, West Virginia, North Dakota and Cameroon. Am waiting to hear back about others. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!! And a friend of mine found one and received the exact same email as me, but 6 months later. So yeah, don’t fall for it.

  54. Adam says:

Another Cameroon Scam with Friesian / Morgan Horse comes from sonitawilliams@gmail.com

Advertising a $2000 horse – eventually sends information, photos etc and requests Money Gram to Cameroon

Was posted on the Australian Web Site myaushorse.com.au

I feel sorry for the honest site owners and the honest sellers and buyers that get hit by these SCAMS !

DO NOT SEND THIS PERSON ANY MONEY

  55. Awesome says:

ceciliasuns@yahoo.com <<< scammer. Was posted on numerous sites. When I was looking he was selling Friesians for $700 and I just was wondering why they were so cheap so I sent an e-mail. He wanted to know my information right away and I didn't give it to him period. I said for 1. I have to find a board and 2. I need more info. Tried to say he would give me two Friesians for absolutely nothing and that $700 was for shipping to Atlanta because he lives in Texas (although it was posted as Atlanta). I e-mailed him back and said well, I'm sure the hauling company won't mind me to pay them when the horses get here and that I refuse to pay without the horses physically infront of me. I get a reply that says

"Sorry.Talk to you later.someone just emailed me wanting both of them tomorrow and she is willing to pay $100 extra for my patience.I really wanted you to get them but you are taking so long and i have to get back to work.Sorry"

And I just let him know I was aware of his scam and let it be at that. Please don't get hooked by this because I'm new to the horse thing so even though it seemed too good to be true, I really wanted to believe it was true because I want an awesome horse for cheap. Just be careful and that e-mail is the e-mail of contact. THIS PERSON IS A SCAMMER.

  56. Lesley says:

It annoys me so much that some genuine horses out there (like my beautiful PRE) will get bypassed as a scam because of these people. I am so lucky to have him, but he came from a reputable place. My only advice is to say that you will find your own transport and pay haulage to them. If they wont give you the address of where the horse is held then you can think that it is a scam, but there again, so many horses are being stolen, would genuine people wish to give address out of where an expensive horse is being held????
It is the way of the world it seems, to be untrusting of people, and to get scammed if you do trust people, it is so bloody sad!

  57. ger says:

Thank you so much for posing this nformation. If i hadnt seen it i would tomorrow be paying for delivery of the beautiful “Dezel”. Thats one xmas suprise i really didnt need. Thanks again!

  58. Gerhard Louw says:

Go all the latest details on where, how ect and passport of horse.

Want to cath these f****kers anybody that are willing to protect the athore people out there as well as the great name of the Friesian build up throug the years they ar breaking down.

If anybody need more info please mail me at aggressiveaudio@webmail.com

  59. Shannon says:

I have seen so many different names for this horse…. The scammer also uses several names and email. She isn’t to bright as she keeps sending the same pictures with each horse she tries to sell. She does need to be stopped… this is her newest one

    Hi ,
it was nice reading from you again.I am so impressed with the mail you just wrote to me .This really made me to understand that you are a horse lover.I have loved horse all my life and I had my first horse when I was 12 which was a Tennessee walker and was bought for me by my grand father as a birthday gift.He was suffering from an influenza which affected his lung.He had nasal discharge and lost of appetite .I tried all I could but he passed away. So Jeanna is a nice horse and the reason why I am selling him is that I got posted here in Triangle,Virginia for a new job that I acquired which is very demanding and I won’t have time to care for Jeanna anymore. He is a nice horse and I don’t want to stress him nor make him feel unloved.he is always alone and feeling very bored so I want him to go to a good, caring and loving home where he is going to be given much attention.Like I said that I am now in Virginia and Jeanna is here with me so I was suggesting that you could come down here and see him then take him along .If you feel that coming here could be stressful to you and prefer that I arrange for a safe transportation and delivery of Jeanna to your home, then it is up to you deciding and letting me know. If you decide to come down here, then you should let me know when you shall be coming .If you decide that I have him transported and delivered to your home ,since you will be paying for the transportation of Jeanna also,I can help in reducing the price of the horse.I really want the best for him so I don’t want anyone who will be taking Jeanna to stress so I am going to send him with the tack, saddle and the blanket,so you won’t be buying any of these things. For Jeanna to be transported to your home,I will need to have your full names, full home address, phone number, state, city and zip code which will be used by the hauler to deliver Jeanna right to your home so you won’t be going to pick him up from somewhere.I will be waiting to hear from you soon,

Hi,thank you for the interest in my horse Jeanna.I just want to tell you that he is still available right now.Yes this horse is currently in US.He trailers well and is good for farrier, vet, etc. He has 2-3 times riding per week but he is ready to go even 5 time per week . He is regular on his vet and his shots are up to date .He has all his paper work done. This horse has been trained for trail riding, show, dressage and is undergoing his 2nd dressage level .He has also been ridden western and English. He has a gentle personality and will do well with kids and other house pets.He is good for beginner and intermediate riders. He is very friendly and playful to them.He is DNA tested , can take voice command and he does not easily become spoke and is broke to ride, even a seven year old child can handle him. He is a good listener to his rider and love to be taken out for a ride.He is very sound and ok in health , no vices and he has never been ill nor injured .He has never been affected by any disease due to the fact that his vaiccines are given regularly. If your looking for a dressage ,show or trail gelding , it doesn’t get any better than this.Jeanna is very much dressage type,an eager student and very willing to work hard for his rider and also willing to learn . I don’t say these things lightly as they are not easy things to do but Jeanna is really that special. He has lots of professional training including clinics with late Bren Daker. No regret to anyone who is going to have Jeanna . In fact,he is going to make a perfect family member . I just want to ask if you have ever owned a horse and for how long? I will a also like to know where you live so that I can invite you to my place for viewing and pickup of Jeanna . I will also like to know how soon you will want to bye this my horse? I will be waiting to hear fom you soon

trainability, appearance, power, and body control. also remains popular as
a carriage horse, as they are powerful horses .
I just suffered from a car accident that affected my spine and i
was advised by my doctor not to ride anymore .so i am looking for that
loving and caring family that will adopt him and spoil him with much
    love and care .
Please i will like to ask you some few question’s to gain your
    experience in Horse Care
    Are you married ?
How many kids do you have ?
Do you have a stable ?
What do you think about horses ?
Have you ever owned a horse before ?
What is your exact location ?
Please get back to me with answers to the above questions
so i could forward you some of his pictures.
    Thanks
    Daniel Frysler

Hello and thank you very much for getting back to me in regards to the adoption of my horses . i am also very very happy and pleased with your responses and i now believe my horses will have a wonderful with you and the rest of the family .
The accident which caused the major damage on my spine has caused me to have to hit the wheelchair for the next 3 years . this has made me to relocate to my parents in Pretoria – South Africa because i had nobody back there who could take good care of me and the horses . i have to give them out because i do not want them to grow naughty since they have had some good training. it is also very bad for your horses to have to spend all their days at the stable . so that is why i am looking for that lovely family and home that will give them the love and care they deserve .
I do not believe in selling animals that is why i am not asking for an adoption fee after them . they can be used for eventing, shows, and trail . they have also had a complete 90 days dressage training and are good for endurance riding and loves kids . You can also use them in whatsoever field you want to use them since they are well trained and have almost passed through all the various stages in horse training.
So the only way you will receive any or both of them is by me setting up a delivery for you and they will be delivered to you at your home . all what you will be required to pay will be the transportation and delivery charges . so please i will like to know if you want both of them or just one to be delivered to you so that i can contact some delivery agencies and get a reasonable price quote for the transportation and delivery of the horses to your home .
Thanks and i wait to read from you at your convenience .
    Daniel Frysler

Hello and thanks for the mail . the horses are presently with me in Pretoria . i had to relocate with them because i had nobody who could take proper care of them . i also did make some inquiries about the transportation and delivery cost of Jason and i got a reasonable price quote of R 4785 . this money will be paid directly to the delivery agency that will be responsible for the transportation and delivery and everything has already been put in place . so please let me know if you will be willing to pay for his transportation and delivery and also let me know when exactly you want him to be delivered to you . thanks and waiting for your prompt response .

Hello and thanks for the mail . i don’t know so much about the payment terms but i believe a certain percentage will be paid before so that his flight ticket can be purchase and the rest will be paid when you receive him at your home . so please let me know exactly when you want him to be delivered to you so that i can arrange all his documents and his equipments and get him ready . thanks and waiting …… Also extend my warmth Christmas greetings to your parents .

I then told him that I can’t just pay that amount and also mentioned to him that I can pick him up in January and this was his reply:

Hello and thanks for the mail . i am also very sorry for the late reply . i was at the hospital for some check up on my spine . i was very happy when you made mentioned of the fact that Jason will be picked up from Pretoria but it is rather unfortunate that my doctor made me to understand that i need a major operation on my spine as soon as possible and i will therefore be traveling to the states for that operation before the 25th . so it is very clear that i have to let him out before that day . please i know it will kind of disturb you a little but i want to assure you that everything will be ok .
I also understand you cannot afford all the transportation and delivery fee but i want to let you know that i am very willing and able to help you complete the balance . so please let me know how much you can afford so that i can complete it and we pay for Jason to travel . please kindly get back to me as soon as possible so that we can get things arranged for Jason to travel . i also want to thank you for your understanding .

But they posted it under various e-mails cause when you choose to view the poster’s other ads, only the one you’re viewing appears. Although they use the same address in all ads….Weird. i already reported all three as scam to the gumtree company..Hopefully they remove it very, very soon!!

Gotta love these dummies. Who would give away a Friesian with FTSE349 bloodlines. After numerous emails, the seller had agreed to GIVE this horse to us with the agreement of me to pay for shipping of $350.00. They never would provide a phone number or answer any questions about the horse in the emails. Just wanted to hurry up and give the horse away so they could travel to Canada. Wanting to know if this was a scam,I played along. We arrainged for this to take place and recieved an invoice from the shipping company via email and a phone call. The shipping company required a $400 Western Union transfer before the horse would ship. The invoice only had international phone #s and the shipper would not provide a US phone number. Once I asked the shipping agency if this was the “White” Paint we inquired about his answer was “Yes”. So Itold him he had been “BUSTED” As you can tell the add was for a Freisian. (Black).

There are alot of these ads on horsetopia.com. I tried to alert them to this but it appears that they are of a suspicious nature. There was no way to report the scams to the site. Just a big runaround. The horses had many different names, no pictures, but all of the nonsense that goes with it.

  71. Tiffany says:

I recently sent an e-mail to a man claiming to adopting out his friesian. All I said was “free friesian, whats the catch?” Roy or Jesse James, which ever he prefers to be called by sent me an e-mail back about his gelding Hanoverian mare which he referred to constantly as ‘her’ but also said twice in the e-mail that ’she’ was a gelding. His questions about the horse were vague and dumb “can you cover the cost of a horse? will your children be kind to the horse” etc. Yet his ad was clearly for a friesian. I smell a scam and I don’t think this person has any idea what they are talking about. A warning to buyers.

  72. Faye says:

  73. Faye says:

Hi I contacted this lady about the horse she got back to me within 15 minutes. I explained to her I was handicap and ask if the horse was child safe. She claimed it was and was claimed out of all the emails concerning the horse that is now called spiky would be better suited with me than anyone….She said she lived in Alaska and the shipping would be 1000.00 but 50.00 home delivery….She asked for full name address phone number etc….also said i would have to be patient for vet records…She claimed her brother owned the horse since spiky was 2 yrs old and is now 9 yrs she said her brother was in a car accident and was no longer able to give spiky the attention and care he needs…..She wanted to ship spiky the next day……I have emails if anyone would like to see what she sent….She also sent pictures and it’s the exact pictures on this site…..She wouldn’t give her number or info as I requested…….This is the big scam and I’m not sure how anyone can get away with it but you can bet I will pursue what emails have been sent back n forth. Will contact my attorney and see if something can be done with these people this is terrible what they are doing…….feel free to contact me I will be more than happy to share emails back n forth between her and I ….

I have encountered this fraud on two horses this weekend, one named Jasper, and one named Larion both on dreamhorse.com–same scam, pay for transportation, adopt Jasper, and pay $3100 for Larion. WATCH OUT!!

  75. Bev says:

The horse is now called Bently a 15.3hh Friesian. I e-mailed them today and then phoned a friend thinking that maybe the horse had been stolen or something. As soon as I got the e-mail about shipping alarm bells rang, it was just to good to be true. My friend found this site and warned me. I would never have parted with any money up front but there are obviously people out there that will.

  76. Faye says:

I wouldn’t have paid for anything up front such as shipping of a horse nor would I give my name or number and address. These people that are scamming others will be brought down….I advise everyone to contact the place the ad is in and any other ad it’s in…Let them know it’s a scam…..If something sounds to good to be true then it is…..I emailed the person and told them how I know about their scam and was contacting my attorney…..I just hope everyone that has contacted this person would do the same…..

  77. Faye says:

I’m not sure how to post all emails from this lady or I would post them all. I can tell you the email they are using now is m4sandra@yahoo.com

  78. val says:

shri750@gmail.com e-mailed the month of Dec about 2 Friesians for sale. $700, I only wanted gelding. Next thing I know the horse is on the move form co. to Tx. when I decided to take the horse. I am informed that the horse is at the hauler and to wire 750 and the horse is on it way. Yes I know better but heart desire blinded me stupid. The company e-mailed thier papers of who they were ( Tekence Age) . All seemed Ok until I get a call stateing that they had been stopped by Okl Highway Patrol and Animal control for insurence on horses and for 25000 more the horse could proceed. No I didn’t send the money and I did check with the Okl High Patrol and there was no such stop or such a thing.Check with a reputable hauler and he said that these people were scanning people with alkind of transports. sshi750@gmail.com even e- mailed me to say that she would put up half the money and I could keep it when we got refund at end of trip, told her no one bad decision did not get 2 .I now see pictures of Jason and Jessie all over horse web sites and even in “I look for cheep Friesian. guess it have horse picture will travel.

  79. val says:

that is the same one I got but it was Jason and Jessie

  80. Isabella Marks says:

I’m more concerned about the saddle-on-the-withers pictures!

My friend had a recent Friesian scam tried on her though…. the woman advertised the horse in Horse Deals Australia and when my friend tried to arrange a viewing/ride the woman said “Well I’m selling him because I’m actually in Thailand at the moment, so I can’t organise that for you” at this point I was saying don’t buy an unseen horse, then the woman came out with “He’s here in Thailand too, so if you want to buy him you have to pay upfront for him and the air transport for him to come to Australia”…. yes, because it’s so normal to pay $5000 for a horse you haven’t seen, then pay another $1000 to ship him to your country. All this just on the understanding that the owner will be honest and not just keep the money and never send him (if he does even exist!).. hmm, no thanks!

  81. barbara says:

seriously, i feel like a fool. I have been conversing with the same people about a fresian….i did send my name and address, but no money. now it is Wilma the Fresian…was in WA, but now in Austin, TX. Lost his wife, sell his gelding for 850. will ship for 650. his email is kellyjones1985@hotmail.com . equinehits horse id# 283715. Guess i’ll be letting equine hits know! like i said, feel like an idiot!

  82. STEPHANIE says:

I just took one to the end here.
Didn’t ask for shipping, they said they would pay for shipping just needed name, phone and address and they would deliver to my door step.

Got email from shipper saying seller “Hanna Liky” paid shipping charges in full, horse was on plane and would be delivered on my doorstep 7pm that night…

Hour later shipper called and asked me to pay insurance fee’s that were refundable in cash by transporter who would be dropping horse off…

  83. Lindsey says:

This site has a fresian add on it that is a SCAM ! they are asking $600 dolloars for a soposadly 8 yr old fresian gelding whos qualifications are worth more than that! The horses name is Jort. they want $500 dollars to ship the horse by plane. Only a western Union will do. The horse was placed on a Kentucky site but the “owner” said he lives in Miami Florida, then the owner using the name Dr. Young Martins, had a “horse hauler” call me, wanting payment immidiatly his name was Rolland Moore. The horse hauler was also supposadly in Miami Florida as well but I was to sent the Western Union to Cameroon, Africa. This is a scam and I hope they get caught!

  84. Sad Horse Lover says:

This horse (same pictures) is listed on horseclicks.com by a woman named Alexsandra and another ad on horseclicks.com by a woman named Bianca. The wording is the same in these ads except the name and the email provided is alexsandrabianci@yahoo.it the same in both ads. This time the horse’s name is Solo and the story is that the woman was in a car accident and will not be able to ride again. She is looking for someone to adopt the horse and pay shipping. This horse is listed as being in Texas, California, Georgia, Michigan, etc.

I did email the seller and asked to come see the horse in person. I have not received a response. Anytime a seller denies the right to see the horse in person, there is a problem. I hope nobody has lost money to this person.

  85. Mary says:

Similar advertisement on itsmymarket.com offering Dela Friesian Mare for adoption some excellent photographs and beautifull animal for £350.00 shipping. Hope no-one falls for it. The owner is apparently a William scott. email wllmscott21@gmail.com

  86. jorlene says:

Hey i think his name is Jerkins now, i just got scammed, thankfully i knew not to wire money, he was first advertised in maine, i couldn’t get him, they conveniently moved 4 hrs away from me, and now just want me to pay their vet in the uk. Ha, but heartboken, had already borrowed money, and trailer to get horse, also pasture, how to catch these people?

  87. Liz says:

Ugh i believe I was contacted by this scammer as well, he spoke broken english and said it was “free” because of an accident. Thanks for posting this…now i know not to give away any real personal info. Now i feel absolutely terrible, i was so happy too.

  88. Sue says:

Well…We got the e-mail…researched it and of course found out that it was a scam – This was a Fresian gelding named RENO and the man had a horrible accident and is partially paralyzed and his wife does not ride. Wanted $700, but will give away free to a good home – right!

I suggest that each of you forward this to your local FBI cyber crime unit who has the ability to deal with this on an international level since his e-mail is an international one – let’s sent this fellow and his cronies to prison!

  89. jorlene says:

Just checked back to let you all know what people have to gain from this, there are several ways to scam us, top one being they want to ship the horse for you and that is the only cost they charge, to make it more legit, you pay the shipping company directley, my quote was for 1300 dollars to be wired to this company, its a fraudulent shipping company, so if you fall for that one they got ya, if you insist on picking the horse up, they immediatley need money wired somewhere for vet bills my qoute 770.00, when i said i wouldn’t wire money to uk, they set it up for US. I mess with these particular people now because they like to waste our time and emotions. I have been making fake emails and inquiring about this same horse and letting it go on and on and hear there ridiculous tactics, the latest the horse was there sons who was killed in a car accident a few monthes back and the horse brings back terrible memories so they just have to get rid of him, they will say anything, i had these one people going that i was gonna meet em and all her sister had a brain tumor and was going into surgery. Well after a bout 10 days i finally had to let the cat out of the bag and wrote i wired the money to Kissmiahass Supermarket. They wrote back ” I do not understand what was the 10 diget number” so i wrote back a wacky number and said “do you understand this KISSMIAHASS SUPERMARKET, i hope you enjoyed wasting my time as much as i did yours, its been fun, hope you know i have over 200 addys that i plan on using to waste your time and recoures.” They actually wrote me back saying sorry and they found me to be very funny and interesting and was hoping to be freinds. So if you have free time, i think its worth doing plus i have aquired several different email addys that i have reported. And it makes you feel better about the time they outsmarted me and i thought i was goin to get this horse. They have plenty to gain, and not much to lose, just play the maybe sooner or later it won’t be worth there time, they will have to find a new scam. This horse is everywhere people a lot of others are scams too i believe they are the same people.

  90. jorlene says:

    Hey Micheal,
Or whoever u really are, do you really think you stand a chance defending yourself, i know you are scammers, and i personally know these pictures right now are for a horse named Jerkins, out of curiosity how many actually wire the money? And who is on this horse? Where did you find pics, i would be mad as heck if you plastered my face all over the internet and everyone knows its a scam. Why don’t you try selling him as a unicorn????? Maybe we’ll fall for that….. talk to you soon or one of the other many names you people go under, but you’ll never know who i am and if iam serious.

  91. Fran Gertz says:

    Hello all,
I am the latest person to fall for free horse Mandella.
Just yeaterday they sent photoes of this great horse described in the first paragraph. I kept all the emails . If anyone needs a great home for a horse 6-7 or a little younger let me know.
    Fran

  92. Jim says:

William Scott is also trying to scam people regarding the sale of other animals too. He tried to scam me when I responded to a http://www.recycler.com (Ca) ad pertaining to a Siberian husky puppy for sale. He said the puppy was AKC registered and that he was an auditor and had no time to take care of the puppy. This guy wanted $200.00 and said that the puppy he called “Dela” would be shipped to me in an air–conditioned crate and that I only had to cover the flight charge. He sent me an email with payment instructions and a link to a pet transportation site he claimed would be responsible for shipping the puppy to me. I then found out that the site was a bogus site he created a couple of days before he posted the ad. His fake site is at http://www.pettransportinternational.com so beware. I checked the owner of this site and it is registered to a Joesph Hawkman in Sunvyvale Ca. 94088, PO Box 61359, tel +1.5105952002. Which I believe is William Scott or his associates. You can checkout the information at http://whois.domaintools.com/pettransportinternational.com. This guy told me everything from he was an Angel from God doing Gods work and so on… just to try and persuade me into trusting him.. Be very careful out there – this guy will go to all extremes to get your money…..

  93. Sabrina says:

Hey Amy I got the same exact email about James and Jane. This is totally a scam.

  94. Mary says:

Hi, there are similar adverts on itmymarket.com have replied to these people. they are not interested when you say that you will collect the horse. advert is Friesian mare for adoption £350.00 and Strong friesian mare for adoption £150.00 It is interesting to note that they use the same information and pictures on both horses. You can only sell a horse once. Have complained to itsmymarket.com twice but the adverts are still running.

  95. Dawn says:

Just came across “Teface” the free Friesian today. After looking into his history, found he had dozens of ads for his sale or adoption all over the world, and here is what his seller had to say:

    “Hello ,

Mike as we call him is an exceptional, beautiful fairy
tale 3rd preemie STER Gelding. He has matured to 16H and exhibits a
lovely personality with beautiful flowing gates due to his compact
build. He was imported from the Netherlands in 2004, and has had one
previous owner who did not ride him. His bloodlines are SUPERB (all
Ster, Pref, or Model): Mother is STER,Grandmother is a STER, and
    Great-Grandmother is a STER. His Sire, FETSE 349 is a 1st Premium
Stallion Training: In Denmark, Mike was schooled to M1 then
imported. In the U.S. he has been schooled in Spanish Riding School
from Jerez, Spain, and classical dressage. Kept in professional
training for the past 4 years under the supervision of his current
owner,Teface scored an average of 66 1st level this summer. His gates
are lovely, and the canter is to die for! He is registered. He been schooled
in Traditional Spanish Riding Techniques, along with some Western training.
He lounges, long lines and has used a serretta. Temperament: Quiet and
accommodating, this trusting horse should be paired with someone who is
willing to bond with him…he connects with the humans who work with him,
even to the surprise of professionals! Really, no vices and a perfect gentleman.
He is safe enough for a beginning rider, and talented enough for the
more advanced.Lovely mover that can do hunter in hand now, but do not
think he will be tall enough to go at a World level in that class this
year. all we need is a loving home that is willing to take care of
him.i need to go and meet my family that is the reason Mike
needs a home.Mike is easy to ride by kids and is of good temperament
he will come with all his tacks..

will wait to answer any of your questions and to know when you intend
to take him home because i will be going to meet my family as soon as we
find a home for him. Teface will make your family proud believe me.

we would also like to know where you are located?”

Like they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is…

  96. deborah says:

  97. Lize says:

    Hey all…

These people are really soooooo stupid, they would sue themselves. But anyway, they make people really negative about horses. I wanted a horse so badly and a lady e-mailed me saying she has a horse up for free adoption to the right home. I was really sceptic and thought I can’t trust her. Started asking her the usual questions I ask when people mention a free horse to me, asked for her number, gave her a call, asked directions etc. I found out that it wasn’t a scam after all…And I am sooooo glad right now that I took the time to talk to her after I almost fell into one of this scams. But still, they make people negative and if I didn’t trust my instincts, I would have let this horse slip through my fingers and it would have been a disaster…!! She is the greatest horse ever :) What I am actually trying to say is, don’t jump to conclusions and accuse anyone before you are sure of your facts. Some people really just want to find good homes for their horses and really doesn’t want to con you. I know most people do, but not all. So ask them all the questions, mention that you want to try the horse before you take it…. Who knows?? There is horses out there for all of us!!!

  98. cchorse91 says:

This horse was listed as a horse named “Jerkins” just this week. The woman is now Helen Powell out of Cottonwood Heights, Utah.

Beware of a scam artist posing as Steven Hudson.
    His e-mail address was stevenhudson7@gmail.com
He advertised on Horsetophia, to give a way 2 9 yr old Friesian horses, Rosy & Ryan.
They were originally free in the ad, but then I was to pay $4,000 for shipping.
The ad was originally in NB but he lived in Houston Texas and was relocating to New York, but I think he was operating and residing in Cameroon.
He was using a shipping company called Rainbow Animal Express. I think this was his own scam company to, one minute I am receiving 2 horses the next a puppy.
The e-mails were endless and on occasions he couldn’t remember if he was Steven Hudson or Steven Brown.

Just be careful when playing with these guys. Don’t make yourself a target.
Lots of poor souls fall for this, and send the money, even over here in Australia. It goes the other way as well when you have something to sell. They want you to pay the shipping, and they will add it to the cost of the item. In my dads case it was his merc, and in my neighbours it was their buying of a motorbike.
Remember…IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THEN IT PROBABLY ISN’T!

It,s too bad there’s so many people out there willing to prey upon innocent people, but then this is worldwide exposure and what’s can be good for millions, can be disasterous to thousands!!
