Grey Horse Art 2

Nikolai Sverchkov - Alexander III & Orlov Trotters
Last week I brought you part 1 of grey horses in art and today it’s time for part two. I found more grey animals than any other color in the artistic world, which is rather interesting to note.

Handsome Animals

Almost every breed can carry a grey modifier, so there is a wide variety of types that share the coloring. Almost all of these animals are older greys as they are mostly white with dappling and dark points. They are also portrayed as strong, solid and able animals – seemingly a symbol of wealth and glamour.

Loving the Color

Out of all of the colors I’ve collected, the greys seem to all possess the most regal & noble bearing. They are often shown as mounts of royalty or those of high rank & prestige…there is just something about those dapples! If grey isn’t your color, there are plenty of other horse colors in art, white (pt. 2) | black (pt. 2) | red | pinto | palomino | appaloosa | bay (pt. 2) | grey.
