Description

Perennial grass which grows in clumps up to 3 to 4 feet. Leaves are medium-wide and rough on the top with feathery tufts.

Symptoms

Reproductive problems, lameness, dry gangrene, prolonged gestation, abortion, stillborn, foal mortality, mare death, fever, death

Danger

Can grow a fungus acremonium coenophialum, and contains alkaloids that inhibit prolactin release. Can be fatal
