Small breeding farm in Central Maryland is looking for a barn assistant, trainer assistant, experienced well rounded horse person. We breed, raise, train, board, and sell mostly gaited horses. We provided stallion service, and have our own stud on the premises. Job curtails not only the daily routine care of horses, i.e. feeding, grooming, stall cleaning, observation and medical care, but training a variety of levels and ages of horses, from 2 yr olds to advanced horses. Our stallion is shown during the show season, and is ridden almost daily. We also have a small herb farm, raise birds, i.e. pheasants, turkeys, chickens and sell eggs. The applicant must enjoy riding in all types of weather, be a self-starter, gentle but firm, and be willing to learn and teach all aspects of horse and animal care,and not be afraid of hard work. A small house is available for the right person. Any age individuals with experience, who are healthy and able to ride, and not afraid to get their hands dirty are encouraged to apply. You would be sharing the house with another part-time assistant. This job could be full-time or part-time. Many opportunities for fun, learning, and rewarding work for the right persons.
