The riding instructor at The Ballibay Camps is responsible for developing a riding program that is appropriate for the ages and abilities of the campers.
Throughout the summer the instructor must:
-Evaluate abilities of campers and ensure campers know and follow safety procedures.
-Monitor care and maintenance of the horses and related equipment.

The Ballibay Camps are located on a 200-acre mountaintop campus in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Ballibay was in established 1964, and is American Camping Association accredited. The Ballibay Camps include Camp Ballibay for the Fine and Performing Arts, The Farm Arts Camps, The Rock Farm, Endless Mountains Dance Camp, and Camptown Theater Workshop.

Most teaching staff are cabin counselors who live with at least one other staff member and 10-14 campers. The Ballibay Camps are an activity-oriented camp; staff members spend only 2.5 hours each day with their cabin groups and 5.5 hours a day in specialty areas working with motivated campers!

Staff members receive 1 day off per week and every other night off. The food is excellent for omnivores and vegetarians alike. On-campus facilities specifically for staff members include internet access, a staff lounge, and more.

Staff members are mostly graduate and undergraduate students, teachers, and professionals in their fine and performing arts fields. Average staff age is early-twenties, but we do have staff in their late twenties and thirties; and several camp parents are also staff members. Staff work cooperatively and collaboratively, and share many wonderful experiences with each other and with the kids throughout the summer. Many staff return year after year to work with us. We offer 7 week contracts (with the option to extend to nine weeks) beginning June 15, 2013.
