Horse Soccer

Click to see VideoI think I’ve written about this sport before, at first I thought it was a joke – but it’s actually quite serious and it kind of looks like fun! Who can argue with an enormous soccer ball?

An Easier Option

To me it seems far easier on everyone involved than games like polo, where a tiny ball must be chased at full speed. It’s not quite akin to football itself, but that’s another story.

Has Anyone Played?

Has anyone played horse soccer? I’d be interested to hear from someone who has played or even watch a game or two – please speak up in the comments below if you can give us the downlow.

We used a giant red ball for our 4-H horse camp, and played soccer at the end of camp. Once we introduced the horses to the ball, they could not get enough of it!!! It boosted their confidence and some actually even tried paying on top of the ball!!

Can’t say that we actually used official soccer rules, but we had the kids run the ball from one end to the other, trying to get to the end for their goal. It was so much fun to do and watch!
