Madeleine Pickens Saves Wild Horses of the US
As a horse lover I have an obligation to be anti-slaughter, and Madeleine Pickens feels the same.
Taking a Stand
When she heard that 30,000 horses were either going to be euthanized or kept in holding pens for the remainder of their lives, she took action to save them. (of course she does have some money to play with).
“It is incomprehensible that it would be allowed to happen,” Mrs. Pickens said Tuesday. “Euthanasia is not an option.”
How the West Was Won
Madeleine Pickens was born to a British father and a Lebanese mother, grew up in the Middle East and went to school in England and France. All of which makes her rally for the wild horses of the US that much more romantic and inspirational.
“You shouldn’t be coming to this country to see Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck,” she said. “We are more than that. We are a country that was formed on horseback and we should enjoy it, not slaughter it.”
A Hero to Horse Lovers Everywhere
The refuge would sterilize the animals as they admit them and would be built with growth in mind, “We will never turn an animal down,”.
Horse lovers everywhere, raise your glass in a toast and say cheers Madeleine!

How can I be involved in this project? I work with a company that makes flower essences for animals that will help the wild mustangs. Go to BlackWingFarms.com or read http://network.bestfriends.org/california/news/30824.html the article I wrote for Best Friends Network.

Hi Roni,
I’m sure Madeline will take all of the help she can get. The best way to get involved is by contacting her on her website.
Good luck!
