Those who love horses, love to look at pictures of them. Why not put them up as screen savers and wallpaper too? If you don’t have horses of your own, or are looking to broaden your horizons, check out our ultimate list of horse screensavers and the websites that offer them.
Apple Blossom Art
Appleblossomart.com offers all sorts of horse-theme options for your computer.
They have a huge selection to choose from and they are free.
The only catch is that some of the files include advertising software.
But it can be removed, and they give you instructions to do so.
We agree that this is a pain, but they have a nice selection so it’s almost worth the trouble.
Virtual Horse
Virtualhorse.com also offers a selection of screen savers.
Many of their options are classic works of equestrian art, which makes them unique compared to others on this list.
Unfortunately I had a hard time getting the links to work, so this is a hit or miss option.
What they are offering is great, but we have to be able to get to it right?
If you don’t have the patience to wait, then there are plenty more on this list to choose from.
3-D Screensaver Downloads

This site is quick and easy to use.
With one simple (and free) download you will get a number of beautiful, clear horse images.
The picture here is a sample of what you will get.
This site is the easiest one so far and offers more than just horse imagery if you are interested in checking out some non-horse downloads.
About.com
About.com never fails to have good information, so it stands to reason that their collection of horse screen savers would be a good one.
Many of these are racehorse pictures, which is a little different from what the other sites offer.
For those of you who love the thoroughbred horse and their ability these are the screen savers for you.
Free Downloads Center
Freedownloadscenter.com offers a cool screen saver that moves.
It is a simple misty scene in which a horse wanders around the image.
It is a $10 dollar upload fee for this one, mainly because of the work involved to animate I’m sure.
Seems like a steep price for a screensaver for sure, however it looks cool and may be worth your dough if it works right.
3-D Screensaver Jam
3d-screensaver-jam.com also offers a package of neat, and high quality horse images for free download to it’s users.
This allows you to pick your favorite images and even rotate them as your screen savers so you dont’ get bored.
This website deals with downloads every day so their site is dependable and works like a charm.
Above is a sample of one of the pictures in their package, as you can see it is a beautiful image and more of the same can be expected.
Softplatz
Softplatz.com has a great selection and some of the screen savers offer a slideshow option so you’ll never get tired of one image on your computer, you can have lots!
Some of these packages cost a few bucks, in my browsing I found a range from 0$ - $15 dollars, depending on the file size and what the package offered.
For those who love horses, a few dollars to look at a beautifully laid out slideshow every time your computer goes to sleep isn’t a big purchase.
