Apple Blossom Art

Apple Blossom Art offers a wide variety of horse-theme options for your computer. They have a huge selection to choose from and they are free.

Unfortunately there is a catch with this one, some of their files include advertising software. (hey, nothings free) Luckily it can be removed and they provide simple instructions for those who want to do so. Agreed that this is a pain, but they have a nice selection so it’s almost worth the trouble.

3-D Screensaver Downloads

3d Screensaver Downloads is quick and easy to use. With one simple (and free) download you will get a number of beautiful, clear horse images.

This site is the easiest one so far and offers more than just horse imagery (if you can believe it) should you be interested in checking out some non-horse downloads. It’s a huge site with a lot of interesting art to offer animal lovers of all types.

About.com

About.com never fails to have good information, so it stands to reason that their collection of horse screen savers would be an excellent one.

Most of these carry a racehorse theme, which is a little different from the fantasy art that other sites have to offer. For those of you who love the thoroughbred horse and their ability these are the screen savers for you. Unfortunately some of the links don’t appear to work anymore.

Free Downloads Center

Free Downloads Center offers a different take on the horse screen saver…this one moves. Set in a simple, misty scene a lone horse wanders around the image, presumably foraging for food.

There is a charge for this one, apparently it’s too cool to give away for free. But if you love horses, this is something quite different. The upload fee is ten dollars and probably pays the artist & animator. Seems like a steep price for a screensaver for sure, however it looks cool and may be worth your dough.

3-D Screensaver Jam

3D Screensaver Jam provides a package of neat, and high quality horse images for free download to their users. This allows you to pick your favorite images and even rotate them as your screen savers so you don’t get bored of just one.

This is a huge website that deals with downloads every day so their site appears dependable and seems to work like a charm. These images are just photographs, but their quality is good and they have a number of non-horse options available too.

Softplatz

Softplatz.com has a great selection and some of the screen savers offer a slideshow option so you’ll never get tired of one image on your computer, you can have lots! Some of these packages cost a few bucks, in my browsing I found a range from 0$ – $15 dollars, depending on the file size and what the package offered.

For those who love horses, a few dollars to look at a beautifully laid out slideshow every time your computer goes to sleep isn’t a big purchase.
