If Heroes Characters Were Horse Breeds

Cast of Heroes
I’ve become a huge Heros fan. In fact, I have a hard time waiting a week for each episode. So I started thinking, what if the characters on Heros were horses? What breed would each of them be?

Here is My Take

Peter Petrelli

Peter PetrelliIcelandic Horse

Probably everyone’s favorite hero early on, Peter is incredibly powerful. However his strongest power is his belief in the goodness of mankind and his drive to keep the cheerleader hope alive.

Peter reminds me of an Icelandic horse because he is pure of heart, full of quiet strength and determined to accomplish his goal. (Or, it could just be the hair).

Nathan Petrelli

Nathan PetrelliMorgan Horse

Nathan has a good intentions, however he is a terrible judge of character, (Nikki was bad enough? Why go there again?). He was created with a purpose and his existence moulded around becoming a public figurehead.

Nathan reminds me of a Morgan horse because he is smooth, polished, handsome and literally developed in the hopes of creating a better being.

Claire Bennett

Claire BennettAmerican Mustang

Initially the key to saving the world, Claire has played an instrumental role in the story since the beginning. She is every bit as brave as she is foolish and the poor girl has no idea who she can trust.

Claire reminds me of an American mustang because she is headstrong, symbolizes American life and she is literally indestructible. Save the American Mustang, save the world!

Hiro Nakamura

Hiro NakamuraShetland Pony

Obviously one of the key players, Hiro can bend the time-space continuum. Although he is among the most powerful in terms of ability, he is also the character that almost all of us can identify with to some degree.

Hiro reminds me of a Shetland pony because he is full of personality and an honest desire to please and because he is far stronger and more intense than he appears.

Matt Parkman

Matt ParkmanBelgian Draft Horse

A natural cop, Matt Parkman has a hard time overcoming his formal training for the magic his mind is capable of. He is a born protector and no doubt that will be an important role for him in the future, no matter how confused he is right now.

Matt reminds me of a Belgian draft horse because he is robust yet displays great compassion to those who need him. He is incredibly powerful, but his kind nature won’t allow it to become out of control.

(The New) Mohinder Suresh

Mohinder SureshBarb Horse

Born into the situation, but without powers, Mohinder gave them to himself. He is easily swayed by others (as well as his own selfish needs), and his powers amplify this in him, making him a loose cannon.

Mohinder reminds me of a Barb horse because he unpredictable, high strung and able to adapt to the adverse conditions his new powers have created.

Sylar

The character everyone loves to hate, Sylar makes a great villain. He is clearly misunderstood and it is obvious he has some mommy issues to work out. His dark humor is a show highlight and he is oddly easy to sympathize with.

Sylar reminds me of a stud horse because he really doesn’t want to be evil, he’s just built that way. Like it or not, he will always carry a little of the devil inside of him. Just like with a stud horse, you’d never turn your back on Sylar.

The Haitian

The HaitianShire Horse

The most mysterious character, the Haitian has the ability to blank the power of others. Which, perhaps makes him the most powerful of all. Although he can be threatening in demeanor, his actions prove him to be an essential good guy.

The Haitian reminds me of a Shire horse because he is quiet and introspective with a great inner strength. His ability allows him to view situations without fear which keeps his heart pure.

Noah Bennett

Noah BennettHolsteiner Horse

Most are unsure what to make of Noah Bennett, is he a good guy? Is he a bad guy? What’s his story? His life is dedicated to his career of saving the world by imprisoning the bad guys…or is it?

Noah reminds me of a Holsteiner horse because he is sharp, intelligent and adapts well to rigorous training. He is well aware of the power he possesses, but doesn’t often use it for personal gain.

Ando Masahashi

Ando MasahashiSpanish Mustang

Another character who gave himself powers (we’ll see how that goes), Ando is Hiro’s best friend and biggest fan. He has shown the capacity for amazing loyalty and friendship and is always good for a laugh.

Ando reminds me of a Spanish mustang because he is loyal and true to those he cares for, plus he has to be about as open minded and adaptable as they come.

Disagree?

Know of a more suitable breed for any of the characters? Or is there an essential character that I missed? I’d love to hear what you think, be sure to leave a comment telling me which horse breed best represents your favorite hero.
