Intro
Said to be the most direct descendants of the “Great Horse” of medieval times, the Belgium Draft Horse was the animal who carried knights onto the battlefield. Most draft breeds today carry Belgium Draft lineage in their bloodlines.

Native to Belgium, these horses developed large and strong fed by the lush climate of the area. With their genes dating back to the “Great Horse” from which all draft breeds emerged.
Trough the years many of the purebred studs have been shown and exported to countries all over Europe to enhance draft bloodlines. The official studbook was established in 1866.
These animals are considered among one of the most powerful draft breeds and have experienced a recent boom in popularity in the States.
