Angie Ketelhut Revisited

Angie's Horse ArtTuesday is artist appreciation day & today it’s all about the work of Angie Ketelhut, another artist I found via Twitter.

Artist of the Week

Todays artist isn’t specifically a horse artist (although she does paint them) she is more of an animal artist. Her pet portraits are colorful and fun & her animals full of enough life and energy to bound off the page.

Keeping Up With Angie

Be sure to visit her website at www.artbyangie.com to see her latest stuff & you can always find Angie on Twitter to keep up with her work. Here are some quick quotes & my favorite images from her interview, you can read her whole interview here.

“As a shy child, a family dog or family friend’s dog was always my best friend. Creating art was my favorite activity as it allowed me a way to express myself.”

Angie's Interview

“She had an incredible bond with her horse and wanted it to be a memorial type of painting for her, complete with her horse‘s favorite color, which was purple. I felt very honored to have had the opportunity to take on such a meaningful project.”

Portrait of Marvelous Magic

“Spending time next to the ocean really clears my mind and allows my creativity to begin flowing. Also just being near a dog park observing the animals interacting really inspires me.”

2 Aussies

“It [the Internet] has made it possible for me to share my art with so many more people than I could ever have imagined. Also, I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful artists throughout the world who have become my good friends.”

Enjoying the Artists

Hope you enjoyed this artist re-visit & that you’ll check out Angie’s full interview to learn more about her & her work. Stay tuned because next week we’ll be re-visiting an interview with horse artist Kimberly Santini.
