Danielle Barlow Revisited

Dreamy SunsetTuesday is artist appreciation day & today it’s all about the work of Danielle Barlow, another artist I found via Twitter.

Artist of the Week

Todays artist paints whimsical animals with an emphasis on their expressive features. Her work evokes feelings of a romantic time long past. Danielle is a pony person and loves her British native breeds, her fav is the Dartmoor.

Keeping Up With Danielle

Be sure to subscribe to her blog at Daniellebarlowart.blogspot.com to see her latest stuff & you can always find Danielle on Twitter to keep up with her work. Here are some quick quotes & my favorite images from her interview, you can read the whole interview here.

“I come from an artistic family, and originally trained in textiles and ceramics, but I am a countrywoman through and through, and found living in a city unbearable.”

Danielle's Interview

“The place I live is a constant source of inspiration. It is the most beautiful landscape imaginable.”

The Ancient Cross

“I first bought her at pony sales, when she was a wild weanling, and I was just 15. She cost me 45 guineas, all the savings from my Saturday job.”

The Red Knight

“I think the internet is generally good – it makes art accessible to everyone, on so many levels. It has also created a global ‘artist’s community’ where artists can easily discuss ideas with each other.”

Enjoying the Artists

Hope you enjoyed this artist re-visit & that you’ll check out Danielle’s full interview to learn more about her & her work. Stay tuned because next week we’ll be re-visiting an interview with horse artist Melissa Boverhof.
