I’ve added a comprehensive list of breeds to the horse breeds section and as I go along I will be adding information about each one.
It’s Hard Work
Unfortunately, the information for many of the more obscure breeds is very limited and in many cases the same paragraph is repeated over and over again across the web.
I want to fix that by finding new and outside sources so I can provide better pictures and information about each type of horse. I want to make it possible for horse lovers to enjoy reading about horse breeds online as much as I used to enjoy reading about them in books as a child.
Asking For Help
In order to do this I’m asking my readers if anyone has information they’d like to contribute. I figure you are the experts, the people who love horses, that read about them, that spend time with them.
Who better to ask?
Know all about the Byelorussian Harness Horse? Have a great picture of a Lundy Pony? A member of the Vladimir Heavy Draft Horse Society? I’d love to hear from you.
Images
Pictures of all of the breeds, (especially the rare ones). I spend hours looking for good horse images, it’s important to me that pictures represent each breed as accurately as possible terms of physical features and confirmation.
This alone requires the help of others. I have no idea what a Zangersheide Horse looks like, so I have to rely on Google (scary) and the people that love Zangersheide horses to ensure I provide adequate and complete info.
I’d love to find 3 types of quality images* for each breed
1. A good confirmation shot
2. A shot at liberty
3. Breed in use – show horse, cart horse, you get the idea.
*You will be given full recognition and credit for any images you provide…show me your stuff!
