Nancy J. Bailey Revisited

Nancy's Horse ArtTuesday is artist appreciation day & today it’s all about the work of Nancy Bailey, another artist I found via Twitter.

Artist of the Week

Todays artist paints and draws lively animals that are full of energy and movement. Her horses almost jump off the page & her otter has a personality all its own. I’m not sure what her favorite horse is, but I’m betting Morgans are pretty high on her list.

Keeping Up With Nancy

Be sure to visit her website at www.nancyjbailey.com & subscribe to her blog at nancyjbailey.blogspot.com to see her latest stuff & you can always find Nancy on Twitter to keep up with her work. Here are some quick quotes & my favorite images from her interview, you can read the whole interview here.

“I didn’t have horses growing up, but always wanted one. I would sit in my room for hours and draw horses and write hundreds of pages of stories.”

Nancy's Interview

“I guess the thing that gets me in the zone is walking in the woods. That is possibly my favorite way to find peace and get in touch with my inner self.”

Morgan Buckskin

“Although he is not specifically an equine artist, Robert Bateman is my hero, and I actually got to meet him once.”

Otter

“On the other hand, because now so much is instantly accessible, there is a saturation level that might make it difficult for one to stand out. Computer graphics already have made an impact in the animation world, but I think there will always be a place for traditional art.”

Enjoying the Artists

Hope you enjoyed this artist re-visit & that you’ll check out Nancy’s full interview to learn more about her & her work. Stay tuned because next week we’ll be re-visiting an interview with horse artist Boyd Green.
