Pretty much everyone wants to believe in the magnificent unicorn. They are one of the mythical creatures that seem to be loved on the collective whole. Robert Vavra did a great job of convincing us all that they just might exist.

There is unicorn mythology from all corners of the world, however, everyone has to make that call for themselves, even though most of us will continue to believe somewhere deep in our hearts. Perhaps that’s how they do exist, because so many people wish it to be true.

This is convincing, although I doubt it’s validity. I was able to find news of a unicorn skeleton exhibition, but it was difficult to tell if it was this that was displayed.
It’s probably just a goat skeleton, but that doesn’t dull it’s cool factor.
Just like a Tiffany’s box, the packaging really sells it. Put a goat skeleton in a box with unicorns on the lid and viola you have unearthed a mythical being.
I’m not a total skeptic, but you’d think if someone found a real live unicorn skeleton there would be news about it somewhere.
The horn on the nose is really what looks fishy, however if it isn’t real it is a well done fake.

i know unicorns exsist. i ran away a while ago, and i did what lots of people did 500 years ago. i found a quiet place in the forest and lay there, waiting to die. it was right by a stream, and i had to fight through brambles to get to it. i had been there for about 12 hours and it was dark, but i was past the point of being tired or cold or hungry. i was just focusin on the river and tryin to repent for the bad times i caused others, when i felt so unbearably sad and happy at the same time. it was a really odd feelin, so i sat up and looked around. i couldnt see anythin, and the weird emotion had faded, so i lay back down. then i got the feelin of bein observed so i looked around again, and i saw a flash of white through the branches and brambles. i kept watchin, and i began to make out a tall four legged animal. i thought it was just a horse so i kept watchin. then i saw its horn as it bent to drink. i froze completely and somehow i knew it knew i was there. i realised i had to go home, but i waited until it had gone before moving. i got the feelin it would only be gentle and peaceful if i didnt move. it was obviously a wild animal, and there was no reason for it to be passive at all. when i got back i went straight to bed, and when mum asked the next day i just said i went for a walk.

That second clip was clearly fake. It was a combination of two different videos, or at least was a planned hoax, as can be seen by the way the cameraman’s arm miraculously stops shaking as soon as the “unicorn” comes into view.
Now, this isn’t saying that its impossible that unicorns exist, but just extremely unlikely. After all, if the rare ivory-billed woodpecker was able to evade human notice for centuries after its believed extinction, then it is possible that a more realistic (and by that I mean properly adapted to its territory, not with a ridiculous white main and 2 foot curled horn ) version of the unicorn exists today beyond our vision.

Fairy godmothers are not real, nor are purple unicorns as you see on TV. Unicorns are pure silver horses with a single silver horn in the middle of its forehead, and a beard on its chin. You never see magical beings when you are looking for them. They are seen, manly on accident, in the corner of your eye. I have seen fairy’s in my own yard.

listen, one day i was walking in the Mystick Groves with my bff Grover. we sat down to eat when we saw a flash of black. like earlier someone mentioned that the last 5 have golden horns. i had grover get some camoflauge around us he is also immortal. we peered through to see a big black stallion with flames as hooves halfway up his legs out of his nose and his mane and tail, he had a golden horn, i must of snapped a twig, becaus he walked over and looked at us grover said that this unicorn was the last. so he sadlt turned it into a golden locket that i where everywhere. if i need help ill tell it my problem and the golden horn will show up. i take it and …. someone, then my problems are solved. the unicorn drinks the blood and will be satified for 6 months. he is dyeindg now becouse i can only get the gods blood, golden ichor, which he does not like. i feel bad but im home for now and will askmy vampire friend to help me out. c u later i pass out

I know some people who believe they are vampires and they do drink blood. Are they truly vampires or are they deluded? There is a mental illness which causes people to believe they are vampires.
There is also a mental illness called Lycanthropy-in which the person truly believes they are Lycanthropes or Werewolves.
I have met both of these. They are not immortal and don’t claim to be but they do consider themselves to be vampires or werewolves.

I have read the entire list of conversations and it seems to me that everyone is getting off subject. This forum is supposed to be about whether unicorns are real or not and it has morphed into talking about werewolves and vampires and dragons! Also, I think that people that use filthy language should not put it on the forum for everyone else to see, and should not call people they do not know names. It is very rude, and makes everyone feel bad. Unicorns have the possibility of existing, they have been mentioned in the Bible, they are a topic for discussion, but they should not be an excuse to insult and argue. Also, people that call themselves vampires and werewolves are probably not ill, but that is rather disturbing. I am very sure that you have better things to do with your time. As for unicorns existing, they exist in the hearts of little children, authors, animal lovers, and other very creative people. So who knows?

I think they may exist, because they have not been proven to not exist. Besides, I often see wierd tracks in the woods behind my house, and chewed leaves, and disturbed grass. No, it is not a bear, deer, fox, wolf, porcupine, or any other normal woodsy animal. I have checked. Also, there are sometimes long, straight slashes in the trees bark around a certain area. Hmmmm…

unicorns may or may not be real. i dont think anyone’s really seen one, but it’s possible they’re real. how would we know they weren’t if we haven’t seen one yet? if that’s not the thing, maybe they died off a long time ago.

Pegasus was an individual horse in Greek mythology, not a species like unicorns are supposed to be. And besides, there’s no known vertibrae with more than four limbs. It’s kind of impossible.
The idea of a unicorn isn’t too far-fetched, really. Just cut the ‘magical’ crap and you have a solid case.
Unicorns had to exist at one point in time as it is written in Numbers, Job and Psalms in the bible. My guess is that they may have become exinct early on for various possible reasons.
hate to p*ss on your firework but we do have wild horses in Europe. We have Camargue, Exmoor, New Forest and Welsh Mountain ponies. They live in herds, roaming free. They are not very tame and have no contact with humans SO I WOULD CALL THEM WILD!!!!!!!!

Personally i find all of this stuff really interesting but it grinds by gears a bit that everyone is criticising what others have to say so much, i mean i know this is a debate but no one knows enough about all of the above mentioned creatures to make any remark about it. As for the werewolf vampire people or whatever people are claiming to be it is perfectly possible that what they are saying is true. Why cant they have an internet access? There is no proof etc against any of their existences, and for all we know werewolves and vampires may not have any authority over them or rules in their world but are simply intelligent enough not to make their existence obvious to humans. Anyone who is saying that unicorns cant exist because their is no proof dont know what they are saying either, new species are being discovered all the time. For all we know unicorns could have some power that means that they cannot be captured on film as prroof of their existence the same way that stories tell us vampires dont have a reflection. I know to some that will sound really really really stupid but it is a possibility amnongst many others. For the person up top who is saying unicorns have to exist simply because they are rumoured and the rumor mmust be based on truth and people wouldnt just make up the legacy of the unicorn i dont agree because based on that theory humans would have no imagination and would not have evolved and invented the things that surround us today. As for people referring to the bible, depending on your religious beliefs that refernce could be enough for some. I am not religious myself and therefore would not rely on the bible but the reliability of the bible is another matter, and no one has adequate evidence to prove whether the bible is a reliable source or not, im not gonna write any more on that though other wise another debate will arise. Anyway, Personally i am neutral on the subject of the existence of all these creatures, but i would like to think that such things exist somewhere.

But, honestly, I think it is possible for a horse to have a horn, and I think that’s where the stories started, but it doesn’t mean it’s a mystical creature. Just folklore and legends began to work at that, and it became known as one.
I read somewhere that back in the middle ages, when Unicorns were so sought after, that there were people that actually took young horses (Colts and fillies).. cut a hole on the forehead down to the bone then took the horn of a goat and bound it to the head til it fused together.. tada.. unicorn..
I would like to believe in the real unicorn.. I really would.. but if they exist.. they are rare and probably know how to hide from people/predators.
All legends and myths are based on fact. You just have to remember that before stories were written down they were passed along by word of mouth.
The original unicorn could have just been a goat.. or it could have been a genetic fluke. Either way the build up of the magical unicorn was something that evolved over generations of people telling the story.

unicorns are extinct. they use to exist. i dont believe their horns were that long…i think they had horns kind of like how a giraffe has horns.
many people didnt believe giants existed. now they have actual evidence, they found a giants remains…saw it on the news 2 years ago. its healthy to leave room for the unknown. and fun. =) lighten up.
Like many children who believe in the tooth fairy, only when they get older do they realise it isn’t true. Shame really to lose that childlike quality.
But isn’t a Unicorn supposed to only show itself to the childlike as opposed to childish, or pure of heart? Perhaps there is hope that somewhere hidden on this planet in an uncharted or undiscovered area and there are still those places in existence today, a Unicorn does exist. I like to think so.

I think what everyone needs to consider is the oppaque possibility that there are things out there that have been forgotten by many, are remembered by few, and were once honored by adults and children alike. In every culture there are stories of unicorns, were-beings, vampyre, dragons and other creatures that today’s society mandates that we treat as mythical. We’ve changed in society from encouraging our children to use their imaginations and see what is out in the world, helping the world live.. to telling them to blindsight themselves and punishing them for what they say they see. Shadows weren’t always nice things that followed us around willingly… dragons weren’t always the distructive force of satan…. and werewolves/cats were not always mindless hunters that killed innocents. Civilization and socialization has changed the outlook and opinion on many of the creatures that we once acknowledged and respected. Faeries, dragons, unicorns… once a long loved legend that our ancestors respected and did not blindly believe were white or black, good or evil… but respected how they could turn for either way, either side, depending on the situation at hand… are now labeled as nothing more than a childs fantasy. Instead of debating on wether or not they do exist now, perhaps you should look inside and wonder why you still exist, if they do not. Balance… that is the key to existance. Peace is the key to tranquility… and acceptance is the key to survival.

The horn i believe is fake,totally,because if you look at a horse nose there ar’nt a spesific place to hold such a horn and to grow out of his nose.If you look at a horse skeleton you will see that his head is completely solid.no holes.I’ll believe in unicorns if the scientifics can show me a real dinasoures skeleton with its discriptions.I know horses very well and whant unicorns to exist,but i cant believe in it if people paste a fake horn on a horse nose/head..completely.

Well you all know about the whole adaptations thingo. You never know they could have existed in the “lost” era that we as humans do not know happened. (The era of how humans came to be etc etc etc)

(Sorry for those who are highly religious but yes), I believe humans were once in a form similar to monkeys and changed slowly thoughtout the course of time. What I’m saying is sure, unicorns could have existed but changed over the course of time to horses. If you know what I mean. Adaptation to the environment.

It dosen’t matter wether you believe in unicorns or not they can exist in your heart and soul if you let them and that’s all that matters. Even if they did exist for real, would you really want to capture one ride it or see it in a zoo? Or would you like to see it running free accross a beautiful forest like the magcal free spirit that it epitomises? But the true way to make unicorns exist is for all of us to be a living, breathing personification af what the unicorn stands for which is peace love compassion for all creatures. That way the unicorn’s spirit will exist and we would all be the better for it. And for anyone out there who believes that you can become too old to believe in unicorns well I feel sorry for you. How can you be too old to believe in something so wonderous? After all the world is full of sad people who think wars fix the world’s problems and of course that hasn’t really happened. So believe in the beautiful and it will help you to become an even more beautiful person.

I’m sorry to break the news but the only vampire that exist is known as a bat.The name vampire came origanally from the species bats.I do belive that people are more interest in fiction than things in real life.And if they exist also unicorns, y arn’t there any evidence??
