We have up to 8 showjumping/eventing horses and ponies in work - from youngsters to top level - and place an emphasis on producing them in a relaxed and friendly environment. As such, we’re looking for a relaxed and friendly groom with a decent sense of humour! We compete most weekends and travel all around the North Island.

    Job includes general grooming duties, including day to day care of horses (feeding, tacking up etc.). Must be a confident, competent and CALM rider, preferably able to ride a wide variety of (well mannered and educated) horses from 14.2hh to 17hh. Must be able to turn horses out to a high standard. HT license a huge plus. Salary: Negotiable

    Private yard working for busy university student. 7 horses ranging from 3-12 years, showjumpers and showhunters. All well mannered. Rider competes in national Showjumping and Showhunter competitions throughout New Zealand from september to march culminating in the Horse of the Year show.

    General duties include:
    organising shoeing, worming, feeding, paddocking schedules. Riding up to 3 horses per day excercising and schooling. Mucking out stalls and maintaining stall/yard area. Driving horses to lessons (if hold license). Preparing horses for competitions and managing, caring for horses at competitions.

    Must be self-motivated, disciplined. Rider going overseas in April for 5 months so someone who can be in sole charge of the horses for this period essential. Salary: negotiable
