I am looking for a cheerful, easy going au pair/groom for approx 3 months from September. We live in Wicklow and there will be plenty of free time. Help with horses and opportunity to ride if required. 11 year old daughter, after school help with homework etc from 3.30 to 5.30. Yard opening times are 8am til 6pm, although liveries may be on site at other times. Duties will include mucking out, turning out, feeding etc.
Days of work are: Saturday and Sunday [would consider one or two days or split shifts]
The Position:
The Groom will be experienced and able to work on a sole charge basis when the owner is away from the yard. The Groom will take responsibility for providing excellent customer service to our liveries and 100% care and attention to all of the horses, all of the time.
We are seeking a person who enjoys working at a yard that doesn’t cut corners, and will pay attention to the small details that make our yard special!
Duties will include the full range of stable duties, general maintenance around the yard, and some riding is preferred.

Small dressage yard/pony stud requires part time groom/stable hand to start immediately. Must be enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, able to take sole charge when needed. Must be confident handling youngstock, including colts and stallions. We expect all our horses and ponies to be treated as individuals and shown respect. High standards are essential, particularly where mucking out and day to day horse management and care is concerned. Experience of stud work an advantage, and an interest in taking part in the care of foals & broodmares will be essential, as mucking out around a newly foaled mare may be necessary. Willingness to do general maintenance work, grass cutting, etc. an advantage. Your basic daily duties will be the unglamorous but most important work around horses such as turning out and mucking out and field cleaning, as relief for our hard-working full-time staff member and ourselves. NH/Pointing and hunting yard require working pupil who wants to learn and get qualifications in Racehorse care or possibly bring own horse to race. General stable duties, possibly riding out / chance to deal with youngstock and go pointing.
