The Limousin horse is a medieval breed that comes from the region of Limousin in France. Their foundation was French native mares who were bred to imported English Thoroughbreds, along with a physically obvious sprinkle of Arabian Blood. Grand Noir du Berry Donkey

The original origins of this breed are speculated but unknown. However, today the Grand Noir du Berry comes from the French area of Berry and were used for working fields & vineyards as well as general transportation. These donkeys were selectively bred robust enough to meet the specific needs of the people of Berry.
